When was this implemented on retail? I superduper miss leveling through PvP.

Back in the day it was a repeatable quest - you got experience for turning in 3 tokens, it was in when you had to queue for Warsong Gulch in Ashenvale / The Barrens atleast.
I remember this vividly because I was leveling my rogue and druid this way, it wasn't efficient but PvP > questing.

There were no battlemasters in the capitals and it was way before BWL was released.

I personally didn't ever skip a lot of levels at a time doing this, but I did skip a few at a time. They also rewarded rep, and worked at city battlemasters when those were implemented. In BC (or prepatch) they became a currency.

There is still a little info out there about it:

you get XP for it. once. so far blizzlike vanilla.

Overall rewarding XP for pvp was added during WOTLK, killing lowlevel pvp twinking in the process.

I remember a friend who stocked up on marks and when he had enough he made the jump from 29 to 39. Then he pvped as long as it took to get from 39 to 49 in one go etc. Just by handing in marks.

ok let's assume this happend in vanilla.

in vanilla you could store up to 20 marks per each different BG.

so you could store up to 40 marks since on this level u can only do WSG and AB.

the FIRST time quest for turning in marks rewards about 4k XP per 3 marks in the level 30-39 bracket.
now let's assume the repeatable quest would give the same amout of XP.

now math inc.

20*2/3*4000 = 53333.34 XP

not even one level.

You do get xp from marks turn-in, but only the first time for each bracket.

I don't think that's how it should be unless if it was changed some time in vanilla.

I've been around town baby so I would assume you didn't play the game from the start?
