PvE multiboxing

by Epitimiya » Mon Apr 13, 2015 8:34 pm

Greetings! I was recently on this server, but I have a very upsetting ban for multiboxing in PvE. I believe that the resolution of use in PvE raise interest in the game for many people. The server does not get worse from a small change in the rules. Multibox in PvE assumes no imbalance, and opens up new opportunities to improve skills. Please do make the game brighter) Please let Multibox in PvE legal.

I'm not going to start a fight or anything, but let's talk about how Multiboxing should remain as a ban.

Economy
You're able to fully clear anything in your path and every dungeon. Instead of having a 20% chance of receiving loot in a 5 person party, you have a 100% chance because you're able to own all members of the party. If a BoE drops, you automatically have the chance to use or sell it at will.

This includes, but not limited to, herbs, chests, BoP items, quest items, etc.

Potential for PvP
It's hard to place trust in every player on the server. How do we limit you from PvP'ing without restricting other parties to enter a battleground? If Nostalrius Begins has 5 people in the same house that join a battleground, they have to be restricted because they are all on the same IP just like you.

Your Accounts are Free
You can have a full raid as a Multiboxer. You remove the social aspect that vanilla WoW has to offer and like the first point mentioned, you have a 100% chance of getting everything from a raid (see: Economy).

Thanks for the answer. Paragraph 2 is wrong because Multibox easily detect on BG. Economy - I agree, but not everyone starts doing it, very few people want so leveling. Paragraph 3 - why not introduce a symbolic one-off donate for the opportunity to play Multibox? and everything will be honest.

it is clearly stated in the TOS that multiboxing is strictly forbidded, and the reasons for this are well founded.

EDIT: And even if it was technically allowed in retail it was frowned upon (but hey, blizzard made bucks so why care?). If it wasnt for the fact that they was earning subs from it I doubt multiboxing would've been allowed as it damages the economy and the game as a whole.

I personally would like to see the allowance of characters on follow, running alts through dungeons or even raids if the guild has room. I am not saying add any programming outside of opening two clients and tabbing between them. This doesn't hurt anything. Aside from that pvp should only allow one client, and perhaps even no defense from a person with alts on follow. I personally don't care about pvp so it wouldn't matter in my case. As for BGs, only one client should be active imo.

We just need permission to use Multibox in PvE, is not so bad and critical to the server, believe me. You can ban us for PvP. Just let PVE please.

Read the server rules. If you cannot abide by the rules, you do not belong on the server. Go multibox on retail.

Difference between retail multibox and Private server:
Retail - an extra $15/mo per box. Limits: wallet and rig/ISP (if your rig can handle more boxes than your ISP, lag will be imminent after so much bandwidth)
Private server: rig/ISP.

If you take out the wallet limit, anyone can multibox. Tell me how any people have the funds to pay $75/mo total for multiboxing? Not many. If you have no limits, what would stop you from boxing half a raid? Hell, you most likely could multibox a world boss if there wasn't the wPvP aspect of it.

Now, tell me, how blizzlike would multiboxing be in a private server? Not very blizzlike at all as you couldn't regulate it as well as the pay wall of retail.

I see this kind of reply over and over. Here is what you look like.

Suggestor: Because A I would like to suggest B.

You: A.

Not much of an argument is there?

There isnt much of an argument because there doesnt need to be one. The facts simply are these: Multiboxing caters to a small minority, that affects gameplay in a negative way for the greater majority. Thus it isnt desirable.
