Having spent a good deal of time trying to do this quest, finally completing it, losing the item in a roll back, coming back to do it again, getting to the end and it bugging despite there being a gm there, and finally still not having the item, I would like to suggest for the convenience of the masses that, even though it's not blizz-like, the escort portion of this quest be replaced by a simple turn in.
I know it's scripted correctly, because I've seen the whole event work, but sometimes Taelen just doesn't want to do anything anymore and stands there like an idiot. So I guess until that's fixed it would be a lot easier if people could just turn it in.

I didn't complet this quest yet, but I tried it 5 times alrdy and I'm bored too.
I understood what was the problem :
Above all, when Taelan is aggro by a mob he got him in his "aggro list".
If the mob was in its original location they fight, Taelan kills then moves on. There is no problem.
However, if Taelan attacks the mob during his reset phase (for example the mob was running after a player, Taelan is aggro by the mob and charges him, but he only catch up the mob when he's reseting) then he will automatically dodge Taelan's strike. And then, Taelan stand there, doing nothing instead of running after the mob or reseting his "aggro list". There is the problem.
In fact I found a solution, you have to pull the mob that made Taelan's so sad that he couldn't move anymore, then when Taelan kills that mob he's unbugged.
But in the end there are still some situations where we can't do anything :
- when Taelan has many mobs that make him bug, GL to know which one
- when Grand Inquisitor Isillien has been add by a player, and that he's not in the Taelan's "aggro list", then he disapears and Taelan is lost in the matrix, he has no goals.
