It wasn't battlegrounds that killed world pvp, it was the battleground remote queueing 'feature' that was added later. Actually, when people had to hang around battleground entry zones to queue for battles world pvp was enhanced.
Sitting in capital cities waiting for raids/ect killed world pvp. No one max level bothered to leave their respective capitals after BC came out. There was a surge in world PvP when blizz introduced FTA/FTH which was an absolute blast.
So basically OP is saying the game is a massive gank fest on lowbies, but also at the same time there should be 40 man raids on places like Southshore and TM. GG.
