Ooze covered mithril nodes

I've got this issue with my 23 Warrior in Ashenvale. Iron nodes abound, but all I get is a skill-up, no loot.

So, at lvl 25 I could loot iron no problem. Apparently there a built in level requirement that's not listed. That's not how it ever was that I can remember.
