Look for 10 year old patch notes? No thanks. I just remember knowing i couldn't do it anymore, or that it wouldn't be worth it. Again, 10 years ago. But i know it had something to do with Blizz fixing the way we reset the instance. Changing party leaders or the like. As for providing "meaning" or "validity", I'll leave that to you silly kids given that most of you had 0 idea what it was like that long ago.

Plenty of people played classic here, you're not a special snowflake. As for your vague assertion that 'something was changed' I think you mean patch 1.7 when the instance limit came into effect. Which is odd since it has no actual meaning in this conversation, Nos already has those limits.

Can't speak for this server, but ever since Blizz put in the instance reset change, it was no longer worth it to aoe grind for gold. When we're comparing things now and 10 years ago, it's difficult not to be vague eh? "Something" happened where in retail Vanilla we mages just stopped doing it. I think the drop rates probably also got nerfed. i originally got dragged into this thread by just dropping an FYI.

I'm sure plenty of people played Vanilla. But I'm also willing to bet the dr pepper on my desk that most of them were early teens when they did. So yes, that makes me a special snowflake because that makes me a geezer, but one that actually knows why Vanilla was so great. And as great as it would be if i could beat my chest and say that Vanilla took skill, it didn't.

And the reason for my disdain towards the populace? There are plenty of newer players on here. And the disrespect shown towards these brand new players was despicable. And that completely turned me off.
