Imo you are seeing way too far into the future. I remember reading here somewhere that TBC will probably be implemented in 2 years time. That is enough for even the worst players to catch up and clear the content. If you are already playing now, how long do you think it will take you until you are bored out of your mind with the "current" (as in vanilla) content? 2 years seem to me enough to finish the game, delete everything and finish it again multiple times.
The only aspect that you could potentially still find interest in is PvP but that's besides the point because Rank14 is not a matter of how much time we have until TBC but how invested (i.e no-lifer) you can be in the game relatively short-term.
And this is just for TBC! By WOTLK (when I assume most people would like to jump out of the game) we are talking about maybe 5 years. I mean I can't even be sure I will be alive by then let alone playing on a private wow server
It will be waaaay before pandaland that this server will close its doors.
