should i be able to see the hostile land mines in AV?

As topic says, should i be able to see hordes land mines as an alliance player? I constantly run over these bastards!
Is there some setting in graphic options i need to enable/put higher quality etc.

If you are not a rogue, then you should not be able to see them.
