Ordering of items on auction house

by muzzzy » Mon Sep 07, 2015 4:28 pm

I'm noticing that cheaper items are appearing on later pages when searching for an item. It's like this for every item I've tried it with.

These screenshots were taken with all addons turned off. I'm a bit hesitant to call this a bug since a search in the bugtracker hasn't yielded anything related to this, and the friends that I ask don't seem to have this issue. I also never played retail during vanilla so I'm not sure if this is normal or not.

Is this 'true vanilla' behavior? Has anyone else run into this issue?

Thanks!

Could you elaborate? What determines what items go on the first page, then?

Vanilla logic /shrug

Whenever I'm buying stuff, I always search all of the pages because 9 out of 10 times, there are cheaper auctions on the next page.

Are there even any auction addons that modify the list of auctions? I know for TBC, Auctioneer completely redesigns the main auction listings, making them smaller (so more fit on one page) and showing their pricecut %.

Auctioneer on vanilla lets you sort by buyout price (thus circumventing those assholes who post higher buyout but lower bid) but that's about the only useful thing it seems to do.
