So I dumped my first char, a Horde Warrior, in order to level an Alliance Warlock. Seeing as I don't need the gold on my Warrior anymore, I decided to put some trash into the AH as my Ally and buy it with my Horde. It does not work that way as a message tells you "you can not bid on your own auctions". So I decided to ask my brother, who also plays here once in a while on another Account, that I give him the Gold and he bids in Booty Bay so I receive it (with a high AH cut ofc..^^).
Now I wasn't even thinking about that even being legal or not, since 8 or so Gold aren't the world, but I heard some stories of banhammers dropping quite quick :<

As long as you're not buying the gold, it's fine.

You've also got to be sure the other guy isn't buying the gold either. Receiving bought gold has also got people banned.
