i looted a black lotus in burning steppes and it disappeared has this ever happened to anyone?

The black lotus is supposed to disappear from the ground upon looting for a period of time. Check your backpack for the item.

Actually, I've notice that if you're not close to a skinnable corpse when you skin it you'll get a definite confirmation (skill up). But won't have it appear in your inventory or in the system log ( "You acquired [Medium Leather]." or what ever the message says).

Might be the same thing happening.

Simple solution is to stand on top of the damn thing when you go to loot

This, for some reason looting will bug out if you are too far from the spot.

I've heard rumors of them being found in outer world, however I have yet to find evidence of such of thing.
