Problem with location's borders

by manarock » Wed Nov 11, 2015 3:46 pm

I noticed some strange things on server. There is no herbs and ores for my account. But then i realised that i have problems with borders in locations. For exemple: if i will stay near The Great Lift in The Barrens and look at map, i can see herb and my friend in party on mini map, but i cant see em in game infront of me... And its not a one place... I speaked with guildmates. They say that they fly to somewhere and see a lot of herbs on minimap, then came there and nothing...

How to fix that? problems with cache? WDB? or server problems? TY

I've actually noticed this too. It's an effect similar to when retail introduced cross server zoning. I've actually phased into a new zone into a party of horde. I was a little surprised lol

Why are there phases at all?
Wasn't phasing a wotlk addition?

Before Wrath of the Lich King, phasing was used in stealth and invisibility mechanics. Events such as the opening of Ahn'Qiraj and the taking over of the Isle of Quel'Danas were simply different realm databases adding game objects and NPCs for all players.

Phasing was invented as a bug fix for the Shattered Sun Offensive daily quests in Blade's Edge Mountains: Intercepting the Mana Cells† and Maintaining the Sunwell Portal.

The most obvious and overlooked use of phasing is when you die and release as a ghost.

So somebody needs to do a corpse run through a few zones and see if ore & herb nodes are just showing up on that layer. All of our copper nodes *might* be dead.

Close. They invented phasing in mid-late Burning Crusade, then started using it heavily in Wrath.

this isn't phasing though, this is just a grid loading issue that most likely has been introduced to reduce lag but has some bugs

The problem is that isnt a phasing... Its a bug. I found out a lot of places all all over the real where phasing is

I've found this as well with nodes that spawn in a location while I'm standing there. For example, I was at Ironbeard's Tomb waiting for the nodes to spawn in and watching both the ground around me and my minimap. I waited for quite some time. And then I saw another player run right up next to me and loot the herb nodes that apparently had spawned but were still totally invisible to me, both on my map and in the world. It would be nice if the devs could look into this issue.

And btw, has the issue with nodes not respawning at all been completely resolved?
