About the draw distance

This is a mere question that doesn't try to be (or atleast doesn't want to be) a complaint in any way.

I want to know if the reduce in draw distance is here to stay or not. I understand it's to fight lag but I want to know if it's the only thing that can be done. Is anything else being/going to be done? If it's here to stay I'll get used to it but if not I'll wait another couple of months before getting back into the game.

When you play, watch how many players are currently online. Around 10k+ people the draw distance will be really low and horrible. But moments when about 6k people are online it's very doable draw distance and delay wise.
