I've never quite understood it myself. I really play games for challenge. Getting cut down in 1 hit and cutting down in 1 hit is boring, uninteractive, and usually a waste of time. I mean killing gray kobolts and looting their copper surely should be the same thing right? Not only do you get to feel superior to something gray but you get copper too.

At the risk of sounding as edgy as the other guy I've only ever seen catharsis(I got killed leveling so should they), thoughtlessness(cause can), role-playing(red = dead), and sadism(something about masturbating to tears) offered as answers. Which pretty much sums up almost all of the responses in this thread. Of course the role-playing one is the only one that I feel serves a legitimate purpose. And of course those that do it out of sadism (few and far between imo) are usually pathetic but they will stand out in your mind as they camp you for 20 minutes.

Filthy horde scum, all horde are kill-on-sight... especially when I'm grouped with my fellow Alliance bretheren.
Unless of course they are a substantially higher level than myself(5+) and I'm alone, then a risk analysis is performed.
And if they're level ??? a temporary truce is offered, as it serves the best interests of both parties...
Beware Verycoolguy, hired by Mr Stormwind himself to slay the pitiful horde of durotar

This was and remains to this day the behaviour of brigands, criminals and corpse marauders throughout the world.

I'm not surprised myself. The tiny ego of a tiny person has been hurt.
Ironically:

'Feeling angry is part of being human. It is a natural response to being attacked, insulted, deceived or frustrated. Sometimes, excessive anger can also be a symptom of some mental health problems.'

Unfortunately some people with autism become angry and aggressive very quickly and find it hard to deal with. The speed and intensity of their anger can be extreme.

When feeling angry, they do not appear to be able to pause and think of alternative strategies to resolve the situation

"The rapidity and intensity of anger, often in response to a relatively trivial event, can be extreme." (Attwood, 2006).

"When feeling angry, the person with Asperger's syndrome does not appear to be able to pause and think of alternative strategies to resolve the situation .. There is often an instantaneous physical response without careful thought. When the anger is intense, the person with Asperger's syndrome may be in a blind rage and unable to see the signals indicating that it would be appropriate to stop." (Attwood, 2006).

Daily reminder when you're ganking someone and they accidentally pull a mob. LET THE MOB KILL THEM. A nice repair bill when they are forced to take resurrection sickness.
