Yes original vanilla was harder than any of the "privacy servers" and this is fact.

stop living in privacy server world and read bugtracker at least once per day (help them fix stuffs) .

Care to elaborate on such things causing this to be so easy?
Getting of track. Started with MC/BWL, but now mentioning the hardest couple fights in addition to TBC stuff...

Enjoy , see how it was back then in 2005 compare to today ...

What is the difference between Ragnaros on Video and Ragnaros in Nostalrius. ..

and here is cthun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuWhN9mVgZI (which you will notice 34 minutes fight) , unlike that in privacy servers it goes for 10 minutes.

also good luck doing in retail 700 DPS , which in privacy servers due to "beneficial bugs" it happens everyday with twice amount higher.

This is just example of beneficial bugs ^

(maximum dps in retail was ignite 1500 dps ) but that was only the ignite roller.

everyone else would do 500-700 dps

We had a warlock hit about 450 DPS on Patchwerk - He wasn't getting Nightfall and all of our mages were Ice so that lowered his DPS a little as well; Of course, had he used the same stuff on most other bosses he'd have pulled aggro (He did on Anub'Rekhan the week before, to test said spec).

I suppose the question about that is, do you want DPS at the risk of aggro or do you want managable aggro with sustainable solid DPS ? Searing Pain, from what I understand, has an extremely high aggro value ?

good luck with "1500 DPS" warlocks in privacy servers

Look at the wasted debuff slots on cthun and the tentacles, Immolates, serpent stings, mortal strikes ect, But yet again duki your stupidity amazes me

I agree with you, but when we reach this point, we're really down fighting egos and arguing about opinions, so I think I'll take my leave from this thread before it gets worse.

You honestly believe players that have 10 years of data aren't going to be better players than players that had no data? Not to mention already come from a different version of the game that was far more demanding than vanilla? Right...

You're right, we're full with people packing a lot of mythic raiding experience, and Nostalrius probably is an untapped pool of skill that Paragon and Method should actively begin scouting ASAP.

Let me correct you before you continue off on this tangent. You used the past tense when comparing Nost community to Nihilum and DnT. That's exactly why I asked you, "Were?".

This discussion has devolved into name calling and OP himself already stated that he has made up his mind, so further debate is pointless and will only lead to flaming.

But since this argument pops up every few months like a clockwork, I'll point out few logical fallacies demonstrated by posters in this thread:

1. "Look what Death & Taxes did in 2005" - only shows what Death & Taxes was capable of in 2005, not your average WoW player, not even your average raider. If you were part of some elite guild back in 2005, awesome! It does not mean that your experience is the same as other raiders.

2. "Players with 10 years of experience are better" - obviously true, however, this only affects the players who actually bother to study the 10 years of experience. Not all Nostalrius players raid and not all Nostalrius raiders operate on min/max-principles. Some of the raids I have seen...

3. Molten Core was never difficult. Guilds with shit gear, no voice communications, half of the players drunk or in zombie-mode, hardly any consumables, still managed to clear it even if Raggy dived twice. And that was the point - it was the entry level raid.

Is Nostalrius 100% Blizzlike, exact carbon copy of vanilla retail? No, of course not. It is an emulation - the team aims to get as close as possible but it is impossible to be exactly like it was back in the day. Even if all mechanics, spells and mobs worked 100% like they did in vanilla, there is no way to wipe people's memories away or the guides that Internet is full of. Some people remember struggling mightily to progress and are disappointed because they aren't challenged quite as much in 2016. Others remember the laid-back attitude to progression and are disappointed at the amount of min/maxing tryhards.

Finally, please remember that back in the day WoW was called the EZ-mode kiddie game by the grizzled veterans of Asheron's Call, Everquest and Ultima Online.
