The interview is by no means a shitshow where I'm just going to cry over issues the server has and thus make the devs defend themselves. That's not my goal. The goal with the interviews I make on Jungle Cove is to shine light on things that goes on beyond what's obvious to everyone. I could have asked them about the crashes and other problems they had, but I think both you and I would be able to predict the outcome of those types of questions. Then again, I'd be more than willing to criticize anyone that deserves it. So far I've not really seen reason enough to go there with Nostalrius.

Yes, there was connectivity issues for a lot of people, but just as you saw, they solved it fairly quickly. There has been crashes and rollbacks, but I see them actively working to fix the sources of it. That's why I don't take a couple of crashes a day as a bad thing, because it progresses in the right direction. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of rofling around on WoD or similar retard-simulators provided by Blizzard these days so I'm happy when there is someone that actually tries to provide a serious alternative. Creating a flawless WoW server ain't easy, and I don't expect such a server to exist without hard work behind it, which leads me not to expect such a server at the day of release. What I'm looking for in projects is rather how they approach their errors and work to improve them.

If the scenario would have been different, that we still saw these issues occur. With people not being able to connect, the same amount of disconnects (or more) and no fixes towards the better... That's when you'd see me criticize or ask questions regarding those kinds of things. As long as everything is as it's supposed to be, with improvement to the quality of the server. Everything is as it should be, and there won't be reason to bring it up in my opinion.

This wasn't supposed to become a rant, but I'd like anyone that reads this to see it as information about what I'm looking for when playing on private servers. I'm also more than looking for reasons to change my opinion about private servers, if presented with reason to do that.

Best regards,
United of Jungle Cove

People value different things and has different opinions. With that said, I hope it still provides some form of information/entertainment to readers. It's not really supposed to work like a F.A.Q or information page about Nostalrius, but rather just shine some light on the stuff that aren't brought up by themselves in their news posts of forum threads.

True it is personal opinion except but when you asked "You solved it really fast and the result is amazing, but I simply need to ask, how come this happened?" and they did not answer it. As for shining a light you did this in no way shape or form, there is no information that is not readily available or obvious in your interview.

I know, that's probably partly my fault. The interview was conducted in a way that will make it easier to forget this kind of stuff for them, while making it harder for me to push for such answers. I wrote down all of my questions in a file, sent it over to Nostalrius as it was, and they wrote down their answers into the file and sent it back to me. I then finished and edited the text so that it would become something that would make sense for readers. I know that I have to work on the routines of how I conduct the interviews, but since I'm so fresh I can't really demand very much of interviewees. I hope that will change in as I continue working because a media channel such as Jungle Cove is definitely needed in this scene.
