Mage talent elemental precision bugged?

by fildan » Sun Mar 15, 2015 12:27 pm

My frost attacks got resisted quite often so I decided to put 3 points in Elemental precision.
However, now it feels like its even worse, frost attacks get resisted like 90% of the time :!: :?:

Have you noticed this aswell?

Only thorough tests can tell if the talent is bugged or not.
Like 1000 spells against a target whom we know the level, the amount of FR and talents, in addition to your own +hit gear & talents. Otherwise, a "feeling" isn't really helping the dev :(.

Could be intersting to know if other Mages have the same feeling ofc :).

Idk what you are smoking, but you realize you have 0 hit gear outside that talent, plus you are probably attacking mobs higher level than you. Dont forget some mobs have certain resistances, aka turtles and murlocs have high frost resistance, so they will resist a lot more.

I have not noticed this at all and I'm 3/3 ele precision. Attacking mobs at my level I rarely get resisted.

Fucking this ^^^^
I have noticed a difference with 3/3 ele precision. I've done tests on it too. Grinding turtles at Hillsbrad river led me to use more fireballs than frostbolts, then finish the 25% health left with arcane blasts. I was oom most of the time because of this.

A good table for this is:
[fucked up, that was the spell pen table]

Dont forget frost spells are binary, meaning they can't be partially resisted, only fully or not at all.

As compared to fire where you might shoot 2 fireballs back to back, one doing 200 damage and the other doing 400 damage, that's not the range of the spell, that's it being partially resisted.
