Contrary to popular belief, vanilla leveling is not hard. It's time consuming. So it won't "weed out" the bads, only the ones with less time to commit to the game. And on the other hard, just because someone has enough time to get to 60 in a week or two, it doesn't make them good.

People usually invest a lot of time into things they enjoy which generally makes them good at it. On the other hand I know people who have raided for 10 years and are still bad at it.

Sadly the fact that it's slow doesn't make it any harder, the group of first 60s is surely one of the high quality players to have with you but they are already in guilds etc. The second wave of 60s will have people who are decent in this game and in a month or two it will be everyone who joined late but he is decent and the slow levelers/people that had enough patience.

TL;DR The high quality people are in guilds already, patient people will level up eventually but it doesn't mean that they are decent at this game.

A good player no matter how many hours per day he plays he does know his class and the mechanics of the game, thus he is using his time more effective and doesn't lose time things your average bob does. If you don't agree that good players level up in short /played time you're just one of them, it's ok, there is no need to get mad.

Unfortunately no, the fact that Nos is FREE outweighs the 1x rate. I still see all types of backpedalling keyturners in my travels.
