Where can I find the rules on multi-accounts

by Brabus » Tue Mar 31, 2015 4:54 pm

I looked all over the main page and didn't see a rules section. I'd like to see the rules regarding having multiple accounts open at once.

am i allowed to group my 60 with my alt and run her through low level dungeons?

Read the rules, you can't have multiple accounts open at the same time, period. You can't group with your 60 alt and boost yourself through dungeons.

Basically other than banking, if you have 2 account open and logged in at the same time, it'll be a ban.

Answered in FAQ (https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3)

How about multi-boxing and bots ?
You're not allowed to use any form of program to control multiple characters at once. You are, however, allowed to be logged on, say, two characters. The only thing we allow multiple characters for, is professions and banking, this means you cannot /follow level 2 characters at once. This will result in a ban of one of the two, and if repeated, both. It is also not a problem if you are, for instance, three family members in the same house, playing at the same time. Each multi-box case will be judged individually, so don't worry if you're not doing anything wrong.

What you can't do, is PvP with multiple characters, Dungeon with multiple characters, Raid with multiple characters, etc.

If you are two people playing two characters - no problem. If you are 5 people playing 5 characters - no problem.

So, answer is - no.

If I catch anyone with a 2nd character on autofollow, you can expect a GM to visit.

You know just because you see someone auto following doesn't mean they're 2 boxing or a bot. My friends and I auto follow each other when we're running from place to place, handing in quests etc. Auto follow is an in game feature that many people use legitimately.

"am i allowed to group my 60 with my alt and run her through low level dungeons?"
Nope. They haven't mentioned twinking, but in combat/XP is a big no. We don't have a XP off option though, so we can't legitimately farm gear on a twink without boxing. I want to twink a character eventually, and boxing is the only way to get the boss drops if you can't turn the XP off. But you're not in combat or getting XP for the clears, just boss kills. Not sure if it's prohibited or not. For example, if you want to twink Hunter 19, you basically need the WC bow, it's the BiS 19 blue to use. But you can't run WC 15 times for it to drop without dinging 20. This means clearing the whole dungeon in advance, and just bringing in the alt for the boss kill. Unless you have a friend willing to waste hours doing this for you(probably not), then you have to box it yourself. Every twink needs BIS equipment from dungeon bosses, and there's no legitimate way to acquire it unless you're VERY lucky on drops before dinging the next bracket.

On Molten, I once had a twink 39 War with the full SM set and 2h. It took a ridiculous amount of runs in Cath/Arm to get every blue. I boxed for the runs and avoided as much XP as possible. He probably would have been 50 from all the runs if I was forced to get XP. This is a huge farm. Blue helm, shoulder, legs, gloves, shield, all from SM. I even had the axe, which is technically inferior to Whirlwind or Corpsemaker you can get for 39, but spinning was fun. I should note that this twink was a Human Warrior, and with a growth pot+chest removed, he looked exactly like Herod, which I liked running around in BGs as. I basically just made a /say macro and hit it every time the spin procced.
