Completely ignoring the question of whether this should be done, the actual implementation is a much larger undertaking that you can imagine.
Lets take 1 spec, prot paladins for example.
First you have the issue of gearing. Paladin tier gear is focused on healing not tanking and warrior tanks tend to use warrior tier which paladins obviously can't. What do you expect prot paladins to use in the later endgame? Are you going to start adding gear to the game?
Second, there is the question of making prot paladins viable mechanically. To start they need some form of taunt so you are already talking about adding spells to the game. Next to be anywhere close to warriors, they need to be able to avoid being crushed and crit consistently. So either you change the crush threshold from 4 levels to 3 like they did in 3.0 or you make holy shield 75% block up from 30% to make it on par with shield block and put them over CTC cap when it's up. Both of those changes would trivialize content. Then you have the mana pool issues.
And thats's just one spec. Basically it's a huge mess to even try.
