precisely, macgarthur hit it on the head, its taken us until now just to get the assistance of them providing us with logs because we have to beg and plead for anything around here, and ontop of that every staff member seems content to copy and paste entirely irrelevant server rules until the such a time where the subject in question proves himself innocent of his own accord. "Dont delete your account for fun" thanks viper, can always count on you homie....

and you can believe that a helping hand is all weve been trying to get since the incident, keeping in mind that this character was more valuable to the guild (not to mention Horde) than our gbank

by operating this "guilty until proven innocent, while keeping all our cards close to our chest" policy is making this a community vs staff thing which is very very unhealthy and slowly degrades bit by bit the respect we may have for you for doing your jobs.

Also retail would give you 1 character restoration per account they didn't need a reason.

Yeah right. The support forum is full of people whose "brother" or "girlfriend" or "wife" was playing the 2nd account in their home and didn't feel like responding to GM whispers, "honest, I wasn't botting!!!". That devils advocate macgarthur posts in every thread how he was wrongfully banned for botting. People claim that their characters mysteriously were deleted when they were sharing their account between multiple people. People claim that their passwords don't work "honest I didn't buy/sell this account". Shit, there's even a whine post from a gold seller that got banned. Many of them repeatedly post here in forums and claim they did nothing wrong and demand detailed reasons why they got banned - which conveniently would let them improve their bots/exploits to be less detectable. Yet you (and others) seem happy form a pitchfork mob against the Nost team, accusing them of shitty server security or conspiracies or being nazi assholes, instead of exercising some sensible skepticism to claims made by random forum posters.

Of course, maybe they all ARE innocent! Maybe the only reason the Nost team made this server was to go on a massive power-trip and ruin the gaming experience of people playing here by randomly banning people and deleting their characters. That's the only reason that makes any sense! /sarcasm.

Sorry for the rant but this kind of idiotic nonsense just really annoys me. Some of these posters are acting like the dumbasses who burn their mouth with hot coffee and then sue the coffee shop for millions.

Maybe some people are innocent, and this guilty until proven guilty attitude doesn't help in those circumstances. What's wrong with asking questions and trying to get an honest answer from the administration? If they have nothing to hide then they should have no issues being transparent. When they lock threads with no explanation other than a copy/paste of the rules, delete threads to hide real issues, etc it paints a bad picture.

I have no issues talking about why I was banned for using a gamepad simply because the staff didn't know this was possible, was given a different explanation from each staff member I spoke to which often contradicted what the previous one had said. My account was locked so even now I cannot post to the forums without moderator approval simply because I request a ban appeal which I was told I would not get, even though they tell everyone they are welcome to submit an appeal if they believe staff made a mistake. They also deleted my original thread to cover it up.

That is neither here nor there, the fact is that regardless of how biased the staff have been I remain impartial on these issues and simply ask the questions for both sides of the argument so the truth can be found. It's not enough to simply trust what the staff tell us when it has been shown on so many occasions that the staff lied. With the revolving door or inadequate staff people need to be asking questions and the staff need to be more transparent. Currently the only reason this is seen as account sharing is because of several different IP addresses accessing the account which can be easily explained with real world explanations. Yes on the Support forums 99% of them deserved the ban and they admit it, or try to use some "my brother did it" excuse, but what about the 1% who actually did nothing wrong and can offer real world explanations, should the staff not even consider that? Guilty until proven guilty is a way to completely ruin a server and at the end of the day this is as much your server as theirs.

Since Blizzard has just instituted an option to undelete characters it's near impossible to find a retail website with the character restoration rules as they were in vanilla. However there are many other sources such as the link below and you're welcome to fact check if you like. Retail did allow a one time per account character restoration.

Contact a GM and ask.
I deleted my main character by accident once, and all I did was log on my alt and put up a ticket. The next day I received a mail (in game) and in my email saying I had used up one of my 'very limited character restorations' and my main would be available within 24 hours.
