Pace of the server?

by Mindmaker » Sat May 23, 2015 9:33 am

First of all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I couldn't find any related topics using the search function (search words being "too common") and taking a look through the pages.

What's been bothering me most about vanilla WoW, is how the game moved at a pace I simply couldn't keep up with. I took my time leveling and experiencing the game and did both PvE and PvP. TBC started and I had only seen MC, ZG and didn't manage to get even the first PvP set.

At what rate does the content get unlocked (I read the FAQ, but it also states that it's depending on thow fast the players clear it)? I'm already at a late start, so will I have to worry about people already having moved on? Will I finding groups to clear the 50+ dungeons? Will there still be people left in the "starting" raids after the various follow ups have been unlocked (I don't even kow what the newest raid is here)?

This server will always be a Vanilla server, so I don't see how the "pace" is relevant at all. TBC isn't going to launch here so you can do everything on your own time. There will always be groups raiding every dungeon.

Well even on official servers it was really painful to gear up for MC, given that most players had already moved past level 50+ dungeons since the didn't need anything from there. I can only imagine it being much worse on a private sever, given that there will be less people around and the majority being 60 already.

You're right about raid though I guess. People have been raiding those forever even back then.
I'll just give it a shot and see for myself. Maybe it won't be that bad if you make a couple of friends.

The FAQ you saw was more or less correct, however it seems development is slightly behind since players cleared content much faster than the developers have anticipated.

The developers have also said that they intend to create a TBC realm in the distant future. You would be able to transfer your character from the vanilla server to the TBC server, but this transfer would be permanent. The two servers will function independently of one another. You will be completely free to remain on the vanilla server if you so wish. Again, this will be some time in the distant future, likely long after naxx has been cleared by players.

Also, most players are not yet level 60. Leveling zones are full and alive (and in some cases, overpopulated) as more and more players are attracted to the server. Even after AQ progression has started, I doubt there will be much issue finding the occasional MC or BWL pug.

My personal experience is that it is easier on a private server due to the fact that people are leaving and joining the server at an increased rate. Even if the population of the server would be cut in half - I reckon it would still be a lot easier to find guilds or pugs for raids.

90% of the player base on the server isn't even lvl 60 yet, so no worries.

Pretty sure there will be about 4000 level 60s in the next few weeks or so, given that there was 3500 yesterday.

This server has at least two times, and possibly three times more players than your vanilla server did, don't worry

Your numbers must be wrong, as the last A/H ratio stated around 1000 lvl 60 total online at peak, so I REALLY doubt there are 3500 lvl 60 at the moment on the server..

LOL No but theres a growing population every day. More and more neckbeards are achieving their lifes dream each and every day and you can too! Just stop showering and bust out the Hot Pockets. Don't forget to piss in jars and poop in old socks you find on the floor.
