There has never once in the history of blizzard entertainment been a 2.5k cap on a server, they do not even use a fixed number and things as simple as player location could affect the cap. In fact by the end of Vanilla the discrepancy between servers and player load was very large.

Maybe even consider a sticky explaining this to people, explaining in basic terms how hosting a server world of warcraft works and how there ideas the majority of ideas make zero sense, the public relations team needs to step up there game hardcore.

Why bother explaining this to people, who obviously prefer the sound of their own voice (or keystrokes), than sitting down and listening to facts for a few minutes.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I am far from trying to educate the unwashed, grubby masses. The proletariat will remain uncultured and swine-like, our only hope is that the management of the server remains refined.

It takes a very skilled person to calm the mass's, Nost ain't even trying. I am not sure what there main goal is but it is not a happy player base which in my opinion should be priority number one.

All it takes to calm the masses is panem et circenses. Nostalrius is providing that in the form of new content. The rest is natural selection.

A calm environment and an appeased one are very different things :P

I have no problem with the server performance, I just wish there was a PvE option so my carebear self can just mindlessly grind out some levels without running to my corpse every 5 minutes.

I was happy with high pop numbers until today I played on BGs and I faced consequences. Constant delays in attacks completely spoiled PvP experience and I asked myself - if its even worth to keep leveling if situation could be even worse?
High pop is great as long as server can handle it. If there are lags, crashes and other issues - its absolutely necessary to either implement queue that stops it, or make second server to split numbers.
