End game PvE

by Kuukk3li » Mon Jun 01, 2015 7:09 am

I'm here to ask a few questions regarding end game PvE, and what comes with it. Lets put it out there I never got to raid in vanilla hence all these questions.
First and foremost, how much grinding overall is required if one wishes to raid(mainly during the raiding, since getting pre-raid BiS is common sense)? In forms of rep grinding, material grinding, or just plain old gold grinding. Profession-related farming, again, is just a thing to have to deal with.

Secondly, regarding rep grinding; Can the rep grinding be done in dungeons, or does one have to do it outside dungeons too(possibly solo)?

P.S. In before someone, yes, I did try the search function to try and find information from these forums, and google to no avail. However if someone does know of a thread with the info I am looking for, all credit to them.

regarding rep: there is basically no repgrind inside dungeons (besides for dungeons quests) once you are past friendly in vanilla. (besides Raid assinged factions, AQ40/ ZG/ MC rep for instance)

for factions such as Cenarion Circle, Timbermaw Hold, Argent Dawn etc... have fun with good old outworld grinding.

PvP factions u can do rep inside the suiting BG, Warsong Outriders/Silverwing = WSG, etc...)

What is also important for vanilla raiding is getting mats for flasks in elexirs. Either u are herbalist and farm them directly or via gold grinding and buy them. Same count for mats for ressitance gear. Buy it or farm it directly.

regarding the time required for it: it is hard to predict on nostralius because of the high-population. if u are getting ganked for 3+ hours you can image that u wont get much mats/gold.
The one true king is comming for them all!

Depends on the class you're interested in. Tanks, warlocks and healers have the most consumables to farm generally, although you probably could just casualscum it out if you're on alliance since paladins trivialize a lot of the content since they are retard strong healers.

Rep grinding isn't really a thing, sure there's a couple factions out there you raise in 20 mans, but it's generally at a reasonable rate and if you're rolling in it for whatever reason you can always throw money at the reputation grind to get specific enchants or access to certain quests a week or two earlier than you normally would have.

Can be done in dungeons, but they are 20 mans. Argent Dawn can be done solo, although I have no idea why you wouldn't just run Scholo/Strat and pick up the rep as a bonus. Cenarion Circle is nearly impossible to grind out currently because the Silithus mobs are scripted properly and a nightmare to deal with.
