Everyone keeps using the work "fix" when nothing is broken. This is how it was in vanilla. This is what we are here for. There is nothing to"fix". Just have to work around it.

Group up with the rogue to see what items are looted.

If you still don't want to lose items, then just find a fellow guild member. Really not a novel concept.

Don't think you can fix stupid, but hey, good for people trying I guess.

This wasn't the case in vanilla. You had to trade over the lockbox for the rogue to open it.

Wrong.

* Patch 1.2.2 (15-Feb-2005): Rogues now correctly gain Lockpicking skill from items picked in the trade window.

Notice that this only fixed levelups from the lockpicking, it did not implement the actual lockpicking in trade feature.

This should be a priority as any non-working spell would be. Stealing should not be condoned simply because of a bug... if there was a bug that would allow someone to gain unfair advantage, such as thousands of gold, I am sure it would be fixed since it would throw the server economy into chaos. In my book, this is no different.

I will look for Tosicx when on but 1 out of several hundred is not much help.

If you're in a party with the rogue, he can't scam you. You see what he loots. When people ask me for lockpicking services, I demand they join a party with me before they trade me the boxes - if they can't or refuse, I refuse the service. No way to disprove allegations of fraud unless grouped.

It's different with friends and guildies, who trust me and send me boxes via mail - I open those after I have grinded for a few hours and collected some trash green items. Then, if there's anything better in their boxes, I swap it out with my trash greens instead.

Conclusion - you cannot scam people, who don't trust you. You should only cheat those, who trust you ;).

Not true, if the rogue opens another lockbox before he parties with you (i.e. already has an unlocked box in his bags) with a green item or whatever in it, you trade your lockbox to the rogue, the rogue picks the lock and opens it and notices an epic inside, he does not loot the epic but instead closes the loot windows and then loots the green item.

This exactly. Even if you group with the rogue it doesn't fully guarantee he won't steal. If the rogue finds multiple items in the box, he can simply choose not to loot one and close the loot window.

So literally the only way to ensure you get all your items from a lockbox is a level your own rogue and level up lockpicking, which is quite the pain in the ass.

For everyone saying this didn't work in vanilla...you have a bad memory. I only played vanilla. This worked. I have found 2 random level 60 rogues that opened boxes for me. On both occasions I received BoE blues. Both were honest. After reading the thread I feel lucky and wish I had written their names down.
