Deathcoil not having a horrify effect
WoTF lasting like 20 or 30 seconds
Pummel not being a warrior ability at release
paladin blessings limited to 5 minutes and single target
resistances being able to go negative (hello 4800 damage conflags)..

the list goes on.

I think it would be awesome, 90% just for the nostalgic value. It would be cool to see the game go through the same progression it did the first time around. I'm always holding out hope that when WoW loses enough popularity they will reboot it on the exact same timeline. Far-fetched but i can dream

Sorry but that will literally never happen :x

Let's go back to Alpha where the forsaken were completely classified as Undead humans, so we could speak common as well as orcish, be immune to everything Undead mobs are immune to (like fear and sleep), but being vulnerable to spells like a paladin's Exorcism.

Don't forget...

- Taurens having no mount
- There only being 100-200 quests
- Hunters and rogues using "shields"
- Melee priests
- Will of the Forsaken being a passive buff which made you immune to Sleep, Polymorph and Fear effects
- Female Trolls using male troll skeletons
- Cloaks had armor types
- Rogues and druids having feign death
- Druids not being able to cast for a few seconds after leaving a form
- Hunters using focus
- Dwarf mages.

Actually the lat two aren't bad and were later made into the game again. Supposedly there are some Alpha WoW private servers, but I've never seen one.

When fear or other control is used in PVP, are there diminishing returns? Or, like vanilla, is chain fearing a big thing?

Rogues and druids only had Feign Death/Play Dead because the hunter class didn't exist. They lost that ability once the hunter class was introduced.

This I'd like to see. Might be fun for a week or so.

Having never played the alpha and just going off memory of what I've read, I'll take your word for it. Nice to know! Still it is curious that they gave it to two classes then reduce it to one, though rogues did get vanish.

I only know this from reading Alpha patch notes. You can find them on the wiki.
