Faction change

Are there any plans to implement the faction change service here? As a donation reward or otherwise?

If the answer is yes, do you realize how harmful can it be to server? In case of faction imbalance, it will allow people to change to the stronger faction, if they want to get R14 the easier way, or something like that, thus even deepening the balance issue. And I'm not even talking about the fact a factionchanging player makes all his former enemies his friends, and other way around, it's as if faction allegiance doesn't mean anything. Mind you, the faction transfer service was introduced in 2009, in the middle of WoTLK. Adding it to vanilla would be completely unblizzlike and plain wrong. So many other servers still adding it regardless, just because it helps them make money. I hope it'll be different here.

They do not plan to implement race or faction changes here.
However, they did do this on the beta server, which doesn't really matter.

They should let you pay for a race change within the same faction, just not change to a race on the other faction.

I fail to see the logic here. One can be willing to change faction to play with friends or to join a guild, but a race change within the same faction?

Faction change is not breaking any rule I think, and yes it can allow you to join friends or a guild you want to apply. In vanilla if I remember correctly you'd have to contact a game master and it took a day or two for switching. Later on they added an automatic purchase for it because lot of ppl were interested in changing faction ^^

The Faction Change service is a new paid service offered by Blizzard, starting September 2nd, 2009 in the US[1] and September 17 2009 in the EU[2], which allows you to change the faction (Alliance or Horde) of a character. This service is being offered in response to player requests. This service has been designed carefully to avoid disruption of the current gameplay on the realm, so certain restrictions will apply. The current cost is 30 USD, 25 Euros or 20 Pounds per character to switch. The change is permanent, however, after a cooldown period, you can purchase an additional change to go back to the player's original faction.

i would love if they implemented a faction change system here. when i started playing i lvl a warrior on the horde side and now my friends changed to alliance. and lvl in vanilla was a bit of a drag to do several times. had it been the easy street of wotlk i would not have comlained just make a new ally char but this is not the case

I don't want them to add it. You'll just have to make a new account and level up a new character
