Imagine Alterac valley for lvl 11-20

Rofl

Adjust every NPC's lvl to this bracket, and imagine...
Lvl 10-11 wolves around...lvl 18 guards.., boss is lvl 23 elite.., people grinding xp and doing repeatable quests while other ppl PvP in mid, as some alliance try to kill galvangar.. scaling would be a bit crazy but with a bit imagination anything is possible.

This crazy idea just crossed my mind.

Not telling you to implement AV for each bracket (even tho I'd fucking love that). But think about it, its a funny thought. Leveling from 10 to 60 in there. Queues requirements would be lower though, to something like 10..since some people could just there to lvl rather kill the boss.

XP in BG's wasn't a thing in Vanilla. That didn't start until Cata I believe...

Nah, would be fun to march on foot in this great battlefield.

People wouldn't really run to objectives, probably rather kill wolves for xp or mid fight, speed isn't needed for low lvls in a BG that lasts long anyway.

After all, its about lvling in a much more PvP oriented way

Yeah... AV at low levels just doesn't seem alright because of level scaling. Just going to give you some ideas as to a PvP-PvE BG after seeing numerous people suggest it awhile back.

I still have my 3.1.3 server with a shitty map I made in Noggit based off of AV and EotS. Able to hold ~160 players (80 per faction) without causing problems PvP-wise (playerbots test). Tried to implement phasing on the bosses so both factions are able to offend and defend their respective bosses without diving right in from the battleground itself. Offense has to remain math.ceiling(1.5 * DEFENSIVE_PLAYERS) in order to phase into the fight/pass the door. All the NPCs surrounding the battleground gave experience and attacking opposite-faction patrols/guards yielded experience while bosses gave honor+progression.

Downside: each playerbots test lasted 8 hours even though I had to lead both sides. They all were geared randomly so gear wasn't deterministic at this point. If players actually ran through this, it would last a minimum of 4 hours in a premade (~4hr 20mins in BiS gear on both factions).

I stopped progressing this because it was a catch 22 when I let my friends and other devs actually play the battleground. People would either stop progression to gain experience or healers kept dying because the defensive side to bosses aimed to kill healers first.

It was worth the scripting experience though!

Many people would love it.

Unfortunately every single server made is blizzlike, or just "custom" giving you gear and thats all, nothing special

There has to be some kind of uniqueness, it has to be more fun, not proper, not contain some broken gain, just a different path that won't affect players who play just for nostalgia.
