I would like to reiterate the need for a pvp sub-forum here.
I'll be making a few to world pvp. Might pop in a bg once in a while but without chants, cause not a fan of griefing.
I usually make a 1, 19, 29, 39, 49, 60, and a 70 (post vanilla) to mess around with as min/max projects. In vanilla it didn't really work like that though, so prob just a couple 19s.
1's - cant turn off xp so you're limited to dueling outside a main city pretty much. You cant effectively get down to xr, or over to goldshire for real pvp without hitting lvl 2. The gear selection and avail stuff is not nearly as good as it became in TBC for lvl 1's, so this segment will never take off. A pimped bank alt is NOT a combat lvl 1 twink.
19's - were a thing from day one, and Nost will probably have quite a few running around, I just hope they maintain proper attitudes and stay away from the griefing that gives twinking a bad rep. Some of that rep is VERY deserved, but the legit twinking community is about low-level simplified pvp against other min/maxed twinks. I hope it stays like that and the world pvp scene at redridge/xr gets intense eventually.
29's - were a thing partially after AB came along, but the problem is the AB without a mount is NOT like wsg without a mount. Its a long tedious bore, and the class gameplay doesn't grow enough compared to the 19 bracket to draw enough people to make it viable. If people do roll toons for this, they will probably fizzle out and turn into bank toons or northern stv world pvp alts.
39's - became fun in TBC with the new enchants and lvl 30 mount availability. This made WSG and AB similar to max-level, but obviously with the simplified gameplay (something that people who dont like twinking often cite as a reason they are not into it - understandable). The problem here is no TBC chants or mounts, and thus 39's develop the same problem 29s will have. There is cooler gear and more abilities in this bracket, but It wont matter in the end, if you have to RUN across AB a few dozen times...
49's - these were around in vanilla due to you getting access to your ultimate ability in a chosen tree, AND MOUNTS. I remember shadow priests absolutely dominating during that time. Since you get a mount as well, I'm guessing there will be a fair amount of people chilling at 49 and hanging around un'goro, searing gorge, and other hotspots. I might roll something to 49 after I have a main and a couple 19s.
59's - blah. The fun post-vanilla is to roll to 60 and kill xp so you can form/join a vanilla raiding/pvp guild for nostalgia. Since this IS vanilla, I highly doubt there will be ANY 59's. Kinda pointless imo, but who knows.
Will be fun to see how it all turns out, but 19s are where it will be at for the foreseeable future. I highly recommend a 19 twink guild forms and organizes from the start. Having seen twink communities over the last decade rise and fall, and become torn apart from miscommunications and not establishing clear etiquette rules for members, I hope people take the time to do it right here. There will be several people trying bg's out as they level (although due to no XP, and not being able to Q anywhere in the world - not all THAT many) and the twinkies need to remember that flat out griefing normal levelers in there, will NOT be good for them or us in the long run.
There have been many amazing posts by twink community legends and leaders on the retail forums and twink sites over the years that detail specifics of this stuff. I suggest we learn from those past mistakes and build a positive community from the ground up this time around
