Anyone planning on leveling to 60 - mostly by grinding?

As in, you'll ignore most of the quests and just kill monsters, that's it.

It is incredibly boring but you'll end up making a lot of money due to random drops, selling trash, etc.

Only if the infamous bug on stock mangos servers of world drops dropping 10x more than they should hasn't been fixed. I assume it has.

After level 30, I do about 80% grinding. There's something weirdly zen about finding the perfect grind spot.

In my experience it's not significantly more gold though, unless you're a skinner and there's a good market for leather.

I stick to quests mostly and quests in dungeons all the way through.
I like to be revered with all and almost exalted with the main factions as a freshly dinged 60. That way I can easily grind the rest quickly and get any mount I want.
But that's just me, really.
You get an absurd amount of reputation in vanilla by doing just quests as the exp is much slower so a lot more quests needed to be done than in later WoW, so the amount of rep you can get, esp. if you do chain quests with big +500 rep all cities and dungeon chains, it's ludicrous amounts of reputation to be had, really.

I'll definitely be aoe prot grinding from around 43ish to 55 for sure, but before then I will be questing, but grinding on the way.

The key the vanilla questing is kill everything along the way or you will run out of quests before you level for the next zone. Vanilla also has a fuck load of traveling you're not gonna find them all in one place, you gonna have to grind sometimes but it's not bad..

Grinding 1-60 is just slow and no fun, hit some dungeons + quests and enjoy it at least.

Will grind a little bit. I take skinning, and I know a spot with skinnable monsters dropping insane amounts of vendor trash. They did in retail, and I'm sure they will on Nostalrius.
