OK, bear with me for a moment, because a "Hardcore" wow could be super fun...if everyone embraced it.
Here's the idea:
You create a character, you level up, and at some point you die. You can release, and even run around as a ghost. But you can't resurrect. You have to be BOTH near your corpse, and someone ELSE has to res you.
I think the idea of "Hardcore Mode" (Diablo, I'm looking at you) is interesting to a lot of people, but likely turns a lot of players away who might otherwise embrace it because of the permanence of it. I also think that the fact that resurrects are in the game (in and out of combat) could make something like this incredibly interesting / fun.
So now, would you play this version of WoW? If so, would you only do it for PvE to avoid high-level ganking? Only in PvP so you could actually progress as a raid? Both? Not at all?
Just curious to know people's thoughts
for the tl;dr crowd: You don't lose your character if you die, but someone else MUST res you to continue playing (priest / druid / shaman / paladin / jumper cables).
