Low level rep grinding (Timbermaw Hold)

by Tenderman » Sun Jul 26, 2015 3:03 pm

In vanilla I had a druid twink with the Furbolg Medicine Pouch icon from honored with Timbermaw Hold. This was incredible due to its high stamina, and with it, along with other good twink items, I was able to reach 2k hp. I achieved honored status with the Timbermaw by grouping with high level players and following them around as a ghost while they killed the mobs. Here, unfortunately, this does not seem to be working - I've tested it on two characters; on my 60 I can gain reputation as a ghost; but on my 10 druid I do not gain any rep. I wasn't sure where else to post this so I've posted it here. Has anyone tried this with any success?

Well, its not exactly blizzlike if this doesn't work, because I know it worked back in Vanilla.

BlizzLIKE doesn't mean exact clone of everything blizz did. It means most things, and frankly, usually pertains to relevant things. This not working as you claim it should does not make the server not blizzlike.

Of course not, but it does mean that they will aim to emulate a Blizzlike experience to the best of their ability. It was the case that you could gain this rep as a ghost in vanilla; I know this because I've done it, as has another person in this thread. Don't take our word for it though, check the patch notes to find no mention of a level requirement to gain reputation: http://wowwiki.wikia.com/Timbermaw_Hold

I don't doubt that you could do this, I'm not challenging that. Due to the limited development resources they have, they need to prioritize what gets fixed/built. I'd suggest that this effects so few players that it is likely never going to get fixed. It's effectively irrelevant.

Good thing it doesn't work. I bet blizz patched it as soon as they found out.

So everything has to be "Blizzlike" expect the things I don't like, even if they were "blizzlike"

You're just using the buzzword whenever it suits you and when it doesn't then "blizzlike" is a bad thing

This is correct. Blizzard encouraged grinding, they encouraged grayzones, and they encouraged people who exploited the game to a somewhat small benefit. Now - exploiting isn't cheating - and yes, Blizzard has changed since Vanilla. But at the time of 1.9 / 1.12.1, they loved that the players found new and alternate ways to overcome obstacles and improve their A-game.
