first of, i think this might be debatable if this is good or not. it obviously takes some time to set a new server up and get it ready, but an announcement in a few weeks can not only be a technical result.Syrah wrote:We don't have any release date to provide yet; an announcement will be made in a few weeks.
this means the pve realm will launch in ~2 months; why? are they trying to build more hype? will the pve realm get any other fixes to make it better from the beginning?
i dont know if this is a wise decision. while it is good because its blizzlike, it might frighten those who prefer high population. and especially when you're thinking about nostalrius future and the very likely case that it will lose population over the years, limiting it to 2500 might be a bad decision, cause the puffer it will have downwards till the population is too low simply is tight. and even if the 2500 limit never gets reached, which is quite possible, its bad advertisement. i would prefer and suggest a 3-4k pop (limit).Syrah wrote:This server population will be limited to 2,500 players with a queue;
another huge negativ aspect of limiting the pop to 2500 are the currently bugged herbs and veins on the pvp server, which makes them ~3 times more accessable than on a vanilla blizzlike realm. while this is OK on the pvp server, since its pop is 3 times bigger too, shrinking the pop to a blizzlike limit, but keeping the bugged herbs and veins would definitly result in inflationary consumables. this has to be fixed, if you actually limit the max pop to 2500.
as it will take several weeks or even months for the pve server to launch, and the staff seems to want to make it more blizzlike than the pvp server, i wish they would take that time and fix more things for the sake of blizzlike before they release it. such as making black lotus BoP, make flasks expire on death, and so on. im sure theres a lot more you could find if you're searching for it and i wish the devs will do this.
amen.
