So I have played on many private servers before, and I am one of those very dedicated people that prefer blizzlike, 1x rates, no pay2win with gradual content release over anything else.
So far the only servers that have even gotten close to achieving this on Vanilla is Emerald Dream and The Rebirth. Unfortunately the community of Emerald Dream is really bad, I played there for a year and got sick of the people in general.. And the devs couldn't do much about the constant DDoS'ing. It was not a fun experience to waste a year on.

The second one, and MUCH better one, was The Rebirth private server. This server was WAY better scripted than any other private server I've ever seen. And I've played a TON. Literally the ONLY issue this server had, was the very low population of the community. Which baffled me for years because it is by far the best private server ever made in terms of scripting, blizzlike and friendly community (albeit very small).

Unfortunately The Rebirth has had many legal issues and downtimes through the years and is currently in the worst one yet. I don't play on it anymore, but I stay in touch with its' community, forums, facebook every day. They're a very nice group of people and a blast to play blizzlike retail with.

I can only hope that this server will be as good as The Rebirth. And if it somehow achieved its' level of fantastic scripting, then I'm hoping it also gets the recognition it deserves. Something that the Rebirth never really got properly through the years. Even with its' legal issues and downtimes, it's still by far the best server for Blizzlike, 1x rates, Gradual Content, 0 pay to win, and community.

I might sound pretentious writing this wall of text just to compare and hope that this server will be as good as it is promising looking (even though I have no personal gameplay knowledge of the server) - But I am quite passionate about vanilla and BC. And the only hope we have for a true experience of those times again is through very well crafted and scripted private servers. Which sadly there are barely any out there that exist and still run.
Here's hoping this will become one of those.

Now I have looked at many of your videos, the scripting and bug fixes ones really impressed me. I could go as far to say as this might become even better scripted than The Rebirth. *tinfoil hat* - But really, it would be a dream come true for every player to see an almost perfectly scripted server. <3

I also noticed your release schedule plan. I would be lying if I didn't say it sounds super optimistic. I get that if you want to be blizzlike, the gradual content is pretty fast progressing. 2 months between major raid releases is a very short time development wise when you think about it. You would for sure have to have everything premade and ready before starting the timer, surely?
Unless you guys are some sort of tech wizards on crack 24/7. I don't see how it would be possible to do such an achievement on the fly in such a short amount of release time.

But I'd love to see you prove me wrong, and stay on schedule. That would utterly floor me, and everyone else, I would think. But I honestly would not give a damn if the release schedules got delayed to make the content better and smoother on release. I know for a fact that everyone would rather want their content to be solid, smooth and no complaints about it, rather than it be rushed out incomplete just to be on schedule with broken scripting and mechanics.
Nobody wants that. So if development needs more time, I know everyone will understand, and no one has the right to whine about something they're getting for free from hard working people.

Like I said.. This looks promising...These are just my thoughts and 2 cents so far.

I don't know man. I'm brand new here, just letting my thoughts on the matter flow into a wall of text. But I would also love to try a beta test somewhere down the line to confirm a lot of scripting and mechanics.

Good read! I never bothered with Emerald Dream myself, and The Rebirth have been down for some time now. Its a shame for sure, but at the same time, that server was never going to become something other than it already is/was. We can only hope that this server and Kronos will be really successfull. Im looking forward to both and the best one in terms of scripting wins for me at least (I wont make a decision on mere youtube videos and forum hype, lets wait and see for the final thing). I completely agree with everything you say. Time for the golden age to return, with x1 rates and no p2w at all.
The only server is can think of to play while we wait for these two giants to release is WoW-ascension. Sure, its been stuck on the "war effort" for a long time but at least its x1 rates and have fairly nice script, altho not perfect. Cant think of any other Vanilla/Tbc server that is x1/x2 and no pay2win and no instant 60/70.

Even though I have no inside information about this, i am almost certain that they, in their 4 years of development have made quite alot of progress on most vanilla content, although the postrelease raids are not yet tuned and final, the groundwork have most likely been made already and this allows them to have an estimated release schedule postlaunch

Dunno if I can help you, but I was playing on Nostalrius when it was a french server (I cleaned everything on it and played on it a long time)
All I can say is that I trust nostalrius staff to make good vanilla like server.
I think they'll sucess on alot of things like scripting, stability, communication... and they'll never set a cash shop or anything.
Back in the the time, the mechanics and scripts were already 90% fine to me but the server was lacking of population, and the leveling experience was a bit broken.
And actually alot of things (like AQ20/40 or DM) are already done.

I've been also playing on Emerald Dream with Olympus (cleaned all content too).
I took a break just before the guild started to fall apart.

Already script during the beta, not fully, but it works well.

That would be a good think. Videos are great, but experimenting self is way better !
You should ask directly what you want to verify, maybe some beta-players can answer you.

How well are dungeons like the Deadmines or Zul Farrak scripted here? I'm just curious, because I haven't got time to look through all the videos.

I too played on the Rebirth since it's inception, but after three years of faithful membership, the last fallout was too much for me. I can't remember any occasion where Rebirth ran for six months straight, without having a major, butt nasty issue. The staff is dedicated and does solve every problem so far, but I guess enough is enough.

Now Nostalrius looks very promising to me, take alone the number of developers. I'm looking forward to play here, as well.
