Beware of the mailbox CoD scammers

by skyguard1337 » Mon Oct 12, 2015 3:18 pm

Buh buh buh watch out guys and gals of WoW, scammers lurk in the mail boxes! Surely, everyone should have the wit to notice which is a legit piece of mail from the devs and which isn't. But just in the case you be needin a refresher this right here is a quick scheme someone is trying to pull on an unsuspecting player, they'll CoD you a random piece of parchment or item hoping you'll not think twice about clicking it : Image
So bewarned my fellow players, and happy hunting!

I get at least 2 of these a day because I stream this game with 1-2k gold always sitting in my bags. Very annoying, but this happened soo much back in the day and you would be surprised how many fall for it.

You're really stupid if you fall for this. The Herro Prease have been trying to China people out of gold using this method since 2005.

Is this bannable? It's kind of your fault for clicking on the item if your half-awake or drunk..leading to trigger-happying clicking items in your mailbox.

We know, OP. This shit happens all the time on literally every private server ever. I don't even know how people fall for it, because it has a fuckin' confirmation window when you try to take the item, confirming that you're paying XX gold for cash on delivery.

I haven't fallen for it..for whatever reason. But are you telling me the confirmation screen says that ^ accepting? I could see how someone not paying attention to the COD part could mess up if the confirmation windown merely says, "accepting."
