Multi account bannable?

I encountered a ganker today that had a level 2 char in the zone on the opposite faction just to read general chat to counter me main (On the same account as my alt)

since that level 2 added me to his friend list he could know when my main was connected and when my alt was, knew when people told that he was at a certain location.

Is that authorized?

It's allowed if he's not actually playing with it "AKA- leveling/farming". If it's parked in a town or any place that's not doing PvP/Farming. He's fine.

No, it's not allowed, only exceptions are trading purposes/professions, and since you can't do any of that with 2 chars on different factions, it's forbidden.
A friend of mine got a small warning for checking AH on both factions simultaniously.

I know who you are talking about and I hope that this person will recieve a ban soon. Because he use his lvl 2 Alliance char for flaming when his horde rogue got killed too.

If he's just sitting in town using chat, that's not a bannable offense.

Multiboxing refers to playing multiple separate characters simultaneously. This can either be achieved by using multiple separate machines to run the game or by running multiple separate instances of the game. It is against the rules to /follow level characters, run dungeons or raids with multiple characters, PvP with multiple characters, etc. There are only a few situations where multiboxing is allowed in Nostalrius, e.g.:

• Trading items between accounts.
• Professions, as long as no farming is involved;

i.e. You can have two characters ingame simultaneously for crafting, enchanting, or trading purposes.

If crafting/enchanting/trading is allowed, then I'd assume chat is allowed as well.

I don't speak about the clarification, but about the cases I've see in the Account Issues section with people being banned for doing cross-faction chat using their alt's.

That seems kinda strange. If trading, crafting and enchanting are all perfectly fine to do, I don't see why chatting would be bannable.
