There's nothing wrong with it being at 50. It takes 10 or so respecs to get it that high and that's not hard to make back at max level. Kronos is giving it a very low cap, which means it won't really cost anything for max level characters, who will respec on a whim everyday to PvP or raid. They will also have economy issues later down the road. The reason it costed gold in the first place is so that you aren't doing it all the time without consequence and so that you aren't respeccing everyday to maximize whatever task is at hand(BGs, farming, raids). But it also decayed back down below 50 if you went long enough without doing it. Blizzard eventually put a decay timer on it, which should be in effect by the end of Classic. You may hate things like expensive respec fees and repair bills, the complaining players sure did, but it kept the economy under control. Classic+BC had the most stable economies. It also encouraged rolling up another character to perform another role.
