Ping

by Cheerios » Sat Nov 08, 2014 1:31 am

I'm curious as a US west player how high can I expect my ping to be. I ask because my ping on other private servers is usually 250-300 which makes PvP nearly unplayable. Example, standing inside another players body but being "too far away" or clearly facing their character but not having your spell cast go off because you are not facing the right direction, also AoE spells not hitting the target because they are actually out of range when their character is in range on your screen. Makes me want to shoot myself somtimes.

Average 36 m/s for my part, but I'm from Europe aswell.
No member ever downed a raid boss, by dying for his guild. He killed the raid boss, by DPS'ing it down to zero.

Playing the game is going to have a higher MS than just pinging the site. But if the server is as good as they are advertising, the increase should be very small. But so long as you are under 200 in game, you should play fine. It isn't until after 200 that delay begins to become a problem. Even if you ping the site at 150, and play at 160, you're still safely under 200. Given that they are preparing the server to handle absurdly large loads they will probably never reach, it shouldn't ever go up unless there's an ISP issue somewhere.
