I'm not sure exactly what you're asking for but It should read/write from the folder you just found so any changes made to it should reflect in the game.

The folder was outside the actual WoW Classic/Nost folder. I meant, if there was a way to make it read/write properly to the WTF, unless this was what classic behaved as (I really don't remember this. Then again, didn't use much macros till TBC).

You cannot easily make the WTF folder inside of your WoW installation folder work while it's in Program Files due to permissions issues. If you would like this to occur then it would be best to copy C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft Classic to C:\World of Warcraft Classic and then copy C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft Classic to C:\World of Warcraft Classic and have it overwrite any files. This will make a copy of your existing installation to C:\World of Warcraft Classic and it will have a working WDB/WTF folder. You may then use it instead of your old installation.

You can also just run wow as an administrator instead of moving the install directory out of program files.

Right click the shortcut > Properties > check off "run as administrator"

You will still have to do the second part of what Snow240 said (copy the files from your user directory to the install folder).
