Alliance to Horde Ratio?

I'd say it looks like for once Alliance will be more. 38 topics with 880 replies in the Alliance section of the forums with 22 topics and 700 replies in the Horde section.

It is hard to decide whether I want to go Alliance for the BG pvp que times assuming they are less or the horde for more world pvp assuming Alliance will have overall more players. PvE will work itself out either way but I can't decide on what to go for pvp. The only thing we have to go on is the polls and the forum numbers. I am still 50/50 probably won't decide until the day lol

I'm rolling horde this time around, always played alliance on private server because they are usually lacking but this server has a lot of big guilds going alliance so i think it's gonna be spread fairly even.

I am somewhat leaning towards human rogue, never played a human. I wanted to go dwarf actually but the perception ability is just too ownage for hunting other rogues

The Ridin Dirty spam thread inflates those numbers a bit, I mean 27 pages in 4 days? The next largest posts made by guilds months ago don't have that many replies. There's quite a few wasted threads in the alliance forum too that are just questions, or guilds that have merged/disbanded. The majority of players haven't even put any posts in those forums and I won't be surprised if slightly more people who aren't going to apply to any guild before launch pick horde, as horde generally is more favored across all previous servers.

It's nice to see slightly more alliance guilds though, I'd say we're looking at around a dead even server for launch taking into account the general horde favoritism in vanilla. (undead animations/racial, orc racial, famous vanilla pvp videos primarily made by horde players "I wanna be like vurtne, grim, drakedog, pat, unbreakable!!1" etc)

Anyone thinking horde will not outnumber alliance by at least 60/40 is delusional.

No polls matter, this is how it has always been on pre-wotlk servers and how it will always be unless devs were to force the ratio to be 50/50.

Horde will always outnumber alliance in pvp, but you aren't factoring in all the pve only carebears, people in dungeons and afk in the cities. There are tons of alliance not queuing for pvp when they get destroyed by the horde because pvp-centric players gravitate to the superior racials. I won't be surprised if its 55/45 H:A, but no more than that. There's a greater than usual amount of alliance guilds in this community at this point in time and I'm talking guilds with communities from previous servers that are bringing over a sizable number of players without needing to recruit from scratch.

Of course this is just speculation, but I'm at least bringing some logical points to support my opinion.

A lot of big Feenixers are going to the autism faction, so Horde randoms will probably have it rough in PvP for the first few months > half a year at 60.
