Estimation Server Population.

I play the Project1999.org EQ Emu server and at one point i read they had something like 50,000+ unique accounts registered. Their avg population in game is 1,000-1,300. They also ban boxers and keep people to 1 character online with quite a bit of success.

4k subscribers doesn't mean there's going to be 4k people online at the same time.

I know but still more and more are becoming interested in this server andif the server is real good, it's going to hit the top of the private servers which means alot more people will join.

Im usually pretty good at guessing numbers in general. Let me tell you what I think about nostalrius.
Most people are waiting for the server to launch in order to subscribe and create there game account... I would suggest to do it right now since the website trafic will explode on launch day and I expect that account creation might go down.

Since the server is now international, the population is going to be spread around the clock which is a good thing if you want to form a group or queue up for pvp at any time of the day.

The population is going to peak a little bit during US primetime but peak even more during EU primetime

The number of active players is going to be higher than what it is on Feenix servers so im guess around 1500 and go under 700 over 24/h period because people will be very active at first. Once the hype goes down and people start to become a little more casual... More people will join so it will remain that high.

I predict that Kronos launch is going to hinder Nost population tho but people which are playing on feenix just because it is more popular are most likely all going to move to nostalrius because they will see huge drop in numbers which leads me to my next point...

The DDOs war is inevitable and I dont think nostalrius is well prepared enough for that. Good DDOs protection from the provider comes with a huge cost and even if they paid for a protection, this is probably a weak protection since they dont have any incomes from the server.

Expect lag, disconnects especially for the next couple weeks and also during the first days of Kronos launch and expect it to be coming from feenix and other vanilla projects at the same time.

Even blizzard's retail servers had problems with DDOs last year at one point qnd god knows they dont lack protections.

I think every servers should make a truce because at the end of the day every servers are going to nuke each other and if you attack nostalrius, expect the retaliation to be relentless from the Nostalrius fanbois.

Some people here have illegal access to serveral T3 connections and would shamelessly use them until ddos againts their server stops.

Finally a profesional answer that i've been looking for thank you my friend . but it's best to wait for the actual result it's not that far from launch, only a few more days. And then we can all see for ourselves. I hope nostalrius will become a big one full of raiders,pvpers, and RPers alike. Just like it was in the good old days. Thanks evryone for your submissions.
