Question about loot drama (The best kind)

Without the group the rogue would have never reached the chest, all items found during a 5-10 man run using any method should be rolled on by the entire group accordingly unless otherwise stated at the beginning on the run. That's how every single pug I've ever been in (which is over 40 by this point) has been run on this server.

If you follow the logic of my previous post, if the rogue needed assistance to get to a chest, the people who rendered the assistance should have a roll. If you can solo get a chest, then you solo get access to the contents

The idea that anyone with a particular skill that allows them to receive items that you cannot is required to share those items with anyone else is an entitlement attitude and I don't agree with it.

How retarded does this issue need to get before people understand how silly it is? Are miners required to /roll for the items they get from mining? Do I, as an herbalist, need to share the herbs I get?

Just because an item may be worth a lot does not suddenly give anyone who didn't have the skill to get it the right to it.

They wouldn't have been able to loot the item without the group you say? OK then, all loot from all bosses is open roll, because you didn't kill it by yourself, and hey, I need gold.


Now, if the group has two rogues, or two herbalists, feel free to /roll on who gets the chest or the herbs.

Mining requires you to pick the prof, lockpicking is specific to rogues because they are supposed to open for the group.

Rogues are not supposed to level lockpicking, its quite optional just like the profession choice...

TLDR version is: the chest is usually rogues to do as he pleases, and the thorium boxes you trade to a rogue will never have an epic inside if the rogue is smart...

This so much... You are not there alone, the chest is a reward of the work your group has been doing not you!
Just looting the chest without rolling is a douchebag move that will ensure you will never be invited in any of my parties again or anybody I know in the game for that matter..

And how can you compare a profession to a rogues lockpicking skill?.. There will never be a chance of epics or blues in a mine or a herb.

Ok, by this logic, everyone in the group should need roll on everything that drops off the boss because everyone helped kill the boss, and a blue or epic item can drop, right? Those vendor for some decent gold.

Using your logic, it does make sense. Doesn't matter if you NEED an item, you wouldn't even have gotten a chance at the item without the group, so they all deserve a fair roll on it.

This is not like rogues are providing some speciel service there is no of way getting otherwise. I could just bring seaforium charges or skele keys and then it would be fine with me just ninjaing the chest?

It's not ninja'ing. If you leveled blacksmithing or engineering and were able to open the chest, as far as I'm concerned, it's your loot. If I can't open the chest, I'm not entitled to items that someone else took the time and effort to level a skill to be able to get.

You're missing the point. You say that since the group was required to reach the chest, that the group gets to roll for the items in the chest. Which would mean that since the group was required to down the boss, the whole group gets to roll on the items the boss dropped.

The whole argument is retarded. If there's a locked chest, I just pretend it doesn't exist, since I can't open it. Demanding that someone open the chest and give me the loot is being a spoiled, entitled brat. Calling them a ninja because you can't get a /roll on some potential epic loot is childish and I don't agree with it.
