Also Blackrock Mountain, where many high end dungeons and raids are is an open warzone. Don't fall in the lava - it hurts.

Main things that are different:

Slow paced. Emphasis is given on improving your character step by step, rather than being able to clear all content within a month and then have to move on a different character or quit completely.

No cross server stuff. You have a reputation in the server. Everyone kinda knows each other, which is really nice.

Classes are a lot more simple. Even Blizzard realized that this is a good thing (as they removed quite a few spells in WoD). Not all classes have healing. Not all classes can tank. Not all classes have instant gap closers. You need to play around your weaknesses and you won't be given second chance if you fail to do so.

Content is a lot cooler. Instances and raids feel like going on an adventure. You won't have a dungeon journal to tell you what each ability does. Also a lot better designed imo (less linear, more optional bosses, more quests tied to each boss, etc.)

Not much of a contribution to the thread, as most of the things i'd mention have been mentioned already, but:

if you plan on leveling a warrior solo, be prepared to get pissed off almost the entire way to 60.

You will not be able to afford your mount at level 40 if you buy all your spell ranks, don't just spamclick the "Learn" button but really look through what you think you need.

And don't just sell your loot to the vendor, lots of stuff can sell for more on the AH than vendors, for example Malachite and Chunk of Boar Meat, just those sort of stuff. Create a bank that you can mail stuff to aswell, but don't mail stuff before your own bank is full imo, cause it costs some copper, and that "can" be a lot in the early levels.
