Gotta say, this is probably the absolute worst way they could have handled this sort of thing. I mean, I really, really want to be able to say I like the Nost dev team. I've had several nice experiences with some of them so far, but seeing the way they handle this sort of thing on the forums is awful. The way they are conducting themselves leads me to believe their reasoning is less like, "This topic brings no meaningful discussion and only serves as flamebait, we should lock it before it gets out of hand." and more like, "Ugh, another thread criticizing us, I wish we could get rid of it. Oh! Shitposting! Now we have to get rid of it, right? *wink* Hehehehe...".
These are things that need to be discussed. Preferably with input from the devs or GMs, but even if they don't speak up, the community needs to talk about it. I don't care if you don't like <GRIZZLY> or not, disconnect the fact that it's <GRIZZLY> from your mind. Without any personal attachment or emotion involved, the truth is that the guild now leaving was an important and influential guild on the server. Now think of the amount of dedication these people had to put in to organizing a guild full of raiders good enough to at the very least compete with the other guilds on this server for top guild. Leading a retarded memer social guild entails a lot of bullshit, and I know there are people here that lead raiding guilds, and they should know that there's even more shit to deal with there. Dealing with over 40 people who plan to raid, then dealing with the officers, solving drama, fixing problems, scheduling. Now imagine that on a much higher level, one of a guild that strives to absolutely shit on any content they come across as soon as it releases. It's 10 year old content, yeah, but that doesn't mean it takes any less effort to do so efficiently. Now consider that these people generally have lives outside of the game, Ak said himself in his post that he not only had a full-time job, but a full load of college courses. The fact that they would give all that effort up means something. It means something important. It's extremely easy to chalk it up to "Well fuck those guys, I don't like them, what a bunch of whiny faggots", but that just isn't the case. If you say that without thinking about the situation you're just deceiving yourself.
I'm not saying "fuck it let's all go kronos lmao", I'm saying if you care about this server enough to see it succeed, you owe it to yourself to try and make it better. I fucking love WoW. I fucking hate retail WoW. As for private servers, this is the only one I can honestly stand. I never committed to Emerald Dream because the administration was so shitty (and the scripting was fucking awful), and I never committed to Rebirth because it was dead as shit. But this server is great because the scripting, while not perfect, is passable enough to the point where you don't always have to be worried about 50 fucking ghouls erupting from under the map and killing you. Simply put, the main problem right now is that the administration of the server needs to be handled much differently than it is now. Can't make a deadline? Slap a fucking topic down in announcements that mentions that AV won't be released for 3 more months. Someone acting up? Don't give them three warnings then permaban them out of nowhere, nobody is going to reform like that. Warn them, 3 day ban, week ban, permaban. BAM. That's moderation at it's easiest. I really don't want it to go down the slippery slope to ED status administration. If I type Corecraft into chat and it filters to "Pottu is the best and we love him!" ED style I am going to kill myself.
