Guild running GDKP system

Because that means all your members are essentially buying gear rather than earning it through effort (in raid).

It will cause people to chose between getting a little bit more gold or getting more geared, and you'll always have people who will gravitate towards both extremes i.e. Richie McRich always wins the gear buys and George McGreedy never buys the gear and would rather amass gold.

Like I don't even know why you would think this is a good idea.

I find DKP system to work as best these systems can, but have silent bids on items, so ppl will use all/most of their DKP on item/s

So much this. The guild I raided with on Emerald Dream used silent DKP and it was nearly flawless.

but whats the point of amassing gold if McGreedy is not using it on gear? its not like he can buy chicken wings with that gold

why do guilds even use the old, shitty dkp system that allows dkp hoarding etc? just 1 example: add a weekly dkp decay (like 20%). so hoarding is not worth ist.

this and everything is fixed, I'm really happy I did not ever see GDKP in action but if it's that stupid as it sounds, May god have mercy on your soul.

It had its time, and that time was at the end of wrath when the ICC buff got super ridiculous. Made some pretty good gold just doing what I found fun. But now it's best forgotten.

what you are referring to is GDKP pug runs for selling loots, which is not what we have in mind

A solid reason would be that grinding gold for priority on epics wouldn't go over well among players who are focused on raiding and aren't interested in grinding gold.

A GDKP system is basically just a dkp system where you get extra points for grinding gold and the question is why you'd want to do that and why players who aren't interested in grinding excess gold should be put at a disadvantage.

Well, if you don't have the gold to bid on items, you do a few runs where people do bid, get rich and eventually buy the gear. I find it an excellent system when there is such little loot amounts since there's 30-40 people in a raid at one time. I don't see the downsides of GDKP.

I don't see the downsides of GDKP.

One downside is that it favours classes that have a massive advantages over others when it comes to farming gold. To give you an example, hunters who solo DM:Tribute can make gold at a much higher rate than say, a healer or a protection warrior.

GDKP also promotes a culture of gold greed within the guild where you may arrive at a situation where people will not help each other unless money exchanges hands.
