I have been raiding since April, and I have never encountered this bug, and I have never heard of it happening to anyone else either. Sounds like someone from your guild has been dumb enough to shift-loot and then press "OK" or just used it as an excuse for ninjaing.
And to OP: Sucks for you and the other people in your raid, but there is nothing you can do about. I just hope some of you guys took pictures of it happening so you can upload it to the ninja looters thread. This is one of the rare cases where you don't seem like a crybaby for posting in that thread.
I'm not to familiar with private servers been getting whispers from people though. Apparently its not an uncommon scene. Live and learn, going to take screens of everything i guess. How would I go about reducing my exposure? If an item is reserved and it gets ninja'd can a GM rectify the issue, if so what would I need to do? If not, guess reserving means next to nothing when master loot doesn't work.
Thanks in advance for the information.
Master Looting does work, just not when it comes to chests - a great example being the majordomo chest.
Not everyone is gonna agree with all of the stuff I am about to say, but from my experience, this is how most people feel about the following topics:
Ninja looting: If this happens to you in a dungeon on regular blues, the people in your group will most likely sympathize with you, but if you post about it on the forums people will most likely label you as a crybaby and forget about the ninja since the community is so big and their identity is therefore easily forgotten in the masses. However, when it comes to raid boss loot like what happened to you guys at majordomo I advice you to take a screenshot of it if you ever get so unlucky to experience a situation like that again. I'm sure none of the respectable guilds wants that kind of players in their guild.
BTW don't even bother writing a ticket to GMs about this issue, If they did handle cases of ninja looting they would simply be flooded with extra work, which to be fair could easily have been avoided in 9/10 cases.
Reserving: People generally dislike when people reserve stuff, so even if you manage to get everyone to accept the fact that you have an item reserved, always make sure to put on Master Loot.
