Joint battlegrounds from servers 7 months apart?

So...you guys want the PvP Experience but not the PvP Server???

I'll join the PVE server mainly because of the fact that it starts from the very beginning and you know very well why people want the PVE server, it's because 60s farm 20-30s , 60v60 there shouldn't be any issue

Like I said, people just want to PVP in their own comfort zone. I wonder how long it'll take them to come to hate PvE.

Personally, I don't think it'd be worth it. Nost would need three severs then. PVP, PVE, Battleground. Trying to toss a battleground "realm" (that's how Blizzard handles it) on either server running the PVE/PVP "World" is just going to lag everyone out and probably cause the database to have a stroke.

*NOTE: This is only an assumption based on my experience as website designer. Hosting multiple sites on a single server is...unwise.

In my opinion there won't be ANY Cross-server-anything. No cross-server BG's, no transfer of characters, even the TBC will probably be a separate server (copy&paste characters is not 'cross-servering')..
The devs made it very clear on many occasions that they are not fond of the idea to connect their servers in any way, ever.

Did you even read what they wrote? They said it wasn't worth the effort to make it happen and only looked into it as it was added in late vanilla.

Cross-realm battlegrounds would be a very bad idea. Not only the gear gap would be huge (we would probably get PvE realm after BWL, that'd mean full T2-geared people stomping fresh 60's), the whole idea of playing versus people you'll never even meet outside a battleground goes against everything that is vanilla.

I'd say that joint battlegrounds will should only be considered in the distant future, well after the Naxxramas and TBC release when the population of vanilla server(s) starts shrinking as many people will certainly migrate into the TBC realm. By then the gear gap will be probably reduced by a fair bit, and the shrinking of PvP communities will make cross-realm queues an actually needed decision.

This server doesn't even have separate machines for Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms. Why are you guys dreaming about a Battleground server?

To begin with this has any significance at 60. Well the gear gap will be high for both factions so it doesn't really matter for the overall quality of PvP. Sure it's gonna be tough in the beginning for the freshers, until they get some gear, but that's what you trade off for having a fresh start. Besides for any serious player (that this should affect) getting geared up shouldn't take that much.

What is the differences between a PvE server and a PvP server?
Answer: World PvP! (And nothing else).

Is world pvp about skill?
Answer: Depends! If you are on reasonably equal footing, then yes it is about skill.

How often do we think World PvP happens where both sides are on reasonably equal footing?
Answer: We don't know for sure, but I do think that it is extremely rare.

Does that then mean that you get better skilled PvP on a PvP server?
Answer: You probably will, but for a different reason: When people look for a server and they like actual PvP it is likely that they'll join a PvP server.

Does that mean that you shouldn't expect any PvP on a PvE server?
Answer: Of course not, because even the PvE servers have battlegrounds! The only difference you should expect between a PvP server and a PvE server is the inability to gank people.

The division of players should be reasonably simple:
PvP server: This is for people who enjoy feeling threatened at every turn (Not being sarcastic, I've learned there are people who actually enjoyed this, go figure) and for those who enjoys the rare large scale world PvP battles that happens once in a blue moon. This is also the server for gankers.
PvE server: This is for people who hate being ganked, and who just want to quest in peace. This is also the server for the PvPer who only enjoys fair PvP and hate the largely unfair world PvP.

I myself do have a lvl 60 on the PvP server, but I hate gankers and I hate world PvP. This is why I stopped playing on the Nost server a month or two ago. I will be coming back for the PvE server.

On the original topic: I seriously doubt that the Nost team will join the battlegrounds between the PvE server and the PvP server, and if they do I suspect that it will be in a year at the earliest.
