Another possibility would be that the addon was doing actions too fast and kept spending same gold multiple times on one purchase. Which I have witnessed happening with class trainer in Mangos previously (not here precise).

If this was the case I'd expect the players to be left with a remainder rather than 0 copper.

I looked at this addon (most recent version).
It looks legit, but the obfuscated nature of the code raises a flag imo. Luckily it's very short.

We need the affected players to zip their addon directory and upload it. You have a lot of people here on the forums that can go through and find the culprit, if there is one.

The first screenshot (case 1) was there because he took a screenshot of someone >trying< to scam him. It doesn't mean he accepted the item. In fact it means he was suspicious so took a screenshot. It just so happens it also shows how much gold he had, so he used that SS to prove he had a lot.

There could be a scam going on embedded in an addon, but it's not that version of that one. It could be another one, or an earlier version of that one.

I doubt we will hear anything to be honest, unless the players got fucked over, then they will probably go nuts here on the forums
