I'm fairly certain the general rule of thumb is "only 1 character outside of town at a time".

So as long as other multiboxed characters are inside a town and only doing chat/tradskills/banking/AH stuff, you're fine.

Having your character use the Auction House while playing on another character is considered multiboxing and will result in either a “Last Warning” or a permanent ban if you had been previously warned about multiboxing. We would highly recommend you do not do this and instead just log in to one character at a time.

what about logging in your bank alt and sell/buy some things at AH in a period of like 5 minutes, without doing anything else in your main (your main also in town for example)

that is using the AH with one character while not playing on the other, but having both online at same time

I did. Every time I used the search bar on this website, I would always get something like "The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words", and it wouldn't give me any results. I would get that message whenever I used the word 'multiboxing.' I tried searching on google, but most results had nothing to do with multiboxing. I imagine I put something in like 'wow nostalrius multiboxing rules forums'.
