Can Blizz shutdown the servers at any moment notice?

Without DMCA to abuse(MURICA), they can't shutdown anything in a moment's notice. The rest of the world has a sane legal system where you have to prove infringing or loss of revenue FIRST, both of which are difficult in the case of private servers. It's expensive and time consuming(possibly years in court) to shutdown private servers without DMCA; and this is assuming they even win the court cases, which is not a guarantee. They could actually lose the case, meaning they'd end up donating to the server for all the trouble they caused.

There's not going to be a shutdown. I'd love to see Blizzard even try. But they won't. They're not that dumb. The ultimate result would be them losing even more retail subs and us getting a nice population boost.

Yeah Blizzard won't really make a larger effort to shut down EU servers unless they have some heavy cash flow. It costs a lot of money to get stuff taken down over seas.

No, this is incorrect. Just because you call income a "donation" doesn't make it exempt from taxes. Its still income, and Nost is not a registered charity.

Blizzard only cares if you make money on their product without their consent (which is why some servers in the past got shut down and their owners sued for all they got and then jailed). So as long as Nostalrius doesn't charge anything, the gaze of the giant, evil Blizzard eye will be turned in another direction.

Maybe it's that or it's that they want to but simply can't take legal action until money is flowing. They are losing customers after all so they should care... who knows? I'm not a lawyer but i can say as long as money DOESN'T flow, it's safe.
